"Major Taylor, The Greatest legend America Ever Forgot"

CLUB NEWS:

Last Week's Program -  Emilie Kastner and Luke Fisher, both employees of the City of Plymouth, gave a very interesting presentation entitled "Millennials and Technology."

Millenials are the term used for people born after 1985, as opposed to Post War babies, Gen X and Gen Y, terms used for other groups of our US population. Emilie and Luke described how  Millennials are often described based on the things they've been exposed as they have grown up.  They are often irreverent, sarcastic, but passionate about relationships Luke and Emlie pointed out how they are used to collaborative learning, are evaluated based on group performance, but still play to their personal personality strengths. The require immediate information, are considered digital natives, and are mostly digitally "connected" 24/7.  They often depend on social interaction and word of mouth over radio, TV and newspapers.  Once engaged, they ted to be "all in!"

Nick Clementi introduced a guest, Andrea Gross; and visiting Rotarian Gregg Elliot promoted his Club's upcoming Rose Sale fundraiser, as he does annually.

On Tuesday, March 10th,  Plymouth Mayor Kelli Slavik  (an Honorary Member of Plymouth Rotary) presented a Proclamation to the City Council and the Public designating Tuesday, April 14th Heart Safe Plymouth - Community CPR and AED Training Day in support of our anticipated mass training event to be held in the Field House Dome at Plymouth Creek Center.  Russ Carlson distributed a new flyer regarding the event, and asked all Rotarians to post the flyer in their businesses to help promote the event. We are hoping to train up to 1,000 people that day.
