Unleashing Human Innovation Potential

CLUB NEWS:

Last Week's Program -   Lyuba Ellingson and her brother Alex were our speakers. They have formed a partnership called Red Elixir Business Solutions.  Their expertise is involved with helping companies and non-profits maximize their use of social media, focusing on web sites, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin, among others.  Social Media has exploded on the internet, and it only makes abundant sense to measure your results to be sure costs expended are providing  maximum results.

Lyuba (Managing Director) and Alex (Co-Founder) both graduated from St. Cloud State with degrees in Marketing.  The statistics they quoted certainly support the need for retaining consultants who fully understand how to reach your intended audience.

Heart Safe Plymouth:   We've trained  2,800 people and counting!

REMINDER:  Preview your member profile on the Club website for accuracy and update any missing data. Contact VP Steve Juetten or Secretary/Club Administrator Joe Thompson with any questions you may have.  To assist, Dwain Erickson and Diane Moyer can shoot smart phone photographs of members whose photos are missing in the Club Membership roster.

Youth Exchange News: We are now seeking host families for our inbound student Guan-Yu Chen coming this August from Taiwan. He is fluent in English. Host families must live in the Wayzata School District. Youth Exchange Officer Jason Cardwell explains we are seeking three families to be selected  by the end of May.  Jason and Jill Kohler will again be involved this year.  Please circulate this opportunity to your friends and families in the Wayzata School District.  See Jason and Jill for more information.

District 5950 District Conference, held May 16, 2015 at Mall of America and the Radisson Blu Hotel was successful.  Plymouth Rotarians attending included Carol Parrish , James Williams, Jim Crenna, Jeff Wosje, Norm Okerstrom, and Steve Beachler. 28 more Rotarians were trained in CPR and AED use by Norm Okerstrom.

Earlier in the day's events, a Guinness World Record was set for the largest group flying flags of countries around the world.  The previous record was 219 flags; District 5950 now owns the record at 242 flags representing countries around the world, flown in the hands of Rotarians on top of the windy East parking ramp at MOA.  A Guinness representative was on hand to authenticate the record.
