The meeting began with the invocation was read by Peter Bartling (thank you Peter for filling in), introductions by Jeff Wosje, and fines by Steve Juetten. During happy fines we learned that the Four Way Test can be used as a Poem - Thank you Bala! President Juetten then read his riddles and made announcements.
Our speaker this past week was Shaun Irwin. Mr. Irwin talked about his life struggles and how Rotary and following the Four Way Test has made him a better person and successful.
President Elect Knight introduced two members of his upcoming Board: Jason Cardwell as President Elect, Bala Guntipalli as Public Relations and Peter Bartling as Secretary. A change for this year will be that Bala will be Jason's President Elect. He continues to look to fill out his Board and will continue to contact members over the next several weeks. Please consider taking on a leadership position with the Club. The Club is only going to grow if everyone steps up.
Rotary International President Elect John Germ has presented his 2016-2017 theme - "ROTARY SERVING HUMANITY"

"Be inspired every step of the way by Joe's commitment to strength and endurance, his love of life and service to others. Joe was famous for saying he was just "Living the Dream", and he achieved his dream of becoming a St. Paul Police Officer shortly before passing away suddenly in January 2008.
Financial proceeds continue to benefit those with a goal to serve their communities through a scholarship fund at St. Cloud State University. New in 2016, proceeds also support Parent Heart Watch, a network of parents & partners dedicated to reducing the often disastrous effects of Sudden Cardiac Arrest in youth. They inform, educate, advocate and implement programs that help achieve their mission at the national and local level."

West Metro Rotaract Club:
The West Metro Rotaract Club continues to meet, however, engaged members are down. They have only a handful of members that are truly engaged and they need help from clubs. Mary Kurth, the District Rotaract Coordinator, is requesting the following from clubs:
Member sponsor from our Club who will support West Metro Rotaract and is Mary's contact person.
Service activities our club is sponsoring and West Metro Rotaract could participate.
Encourage our membership to invite potential members to attend a West Metro Rotaract Club meeting which are the second Thursday of each month: June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, October 13 and November 10. They meet at 6PM at the Colonnade building located at 5500 Wayzata Blvd, Golden Valley, in the board room (Room D) on the ground floor to the right at the bottom of the stairway from the first floor.
