Letter to Public Safety Director Goldstein:

I think we all agree with the following letter drafted by Co-President Bartling!  Thank you Peter!

August 17, 2019

TO:  Mike Goldstein, Public Services Director-City of Plymouth

FROM:  Peter R. Bartling, Co-President-Plymouth Rotary Club

SUBJECT:  Letter of Appreciation-Jim Long

Dear Chief Goldstein,

Greetings!

The purpose of our letter is to thank a member of your staff, Jim Long, for his exemplary service for and on behalf of the Plymouth Rotary Club.

Jim organized, facilitated, and insured superb execution of the Plymouth Rotary Citizens Academy Program.  He not only formulated the program on our behalf, but also oversaw every detail so as to optimize the value of the program to each of our members.

The purpose of this creative initiative was to bring the community and the club closer together thru awareness of and involvement in City programs and services.  Mission accomplished!

Jim came early, stayed late, and assumed total responsibility for program activities and results.  An awesome performance that absolutely insured the success of this endeavor.

John Wooden once said that “The only place that success is before work is in the dictionary.”  Jim Long embodies that quote.

Thank you for sharing his time and talent with us.  We are indeed fortunate to have individuals of his ability, capacity, and character on our Public Service Team.

All the best!

Peter R. Bartling

Steve Solbrack Elected to ESRAG Board of Directors:

Steve Solbrack was recently elected to the board of directors of the Environmental Sustainability Rotarian Action Group (ESRAG).  ESRAG (https://www.esrag.org) is an international organization with 18 directors from 8 different countries.  He is very excited about ESRAG’s impact in assisting Rotary clubs, Rotary Districts and Rotarians worldwide in planning, implementing and evaluating service projects, building awareness, and inspiring action to promote environmental sustainability, awareness of climate change, and actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to mitigate climate disruption.

The group is actively working on growing its membership in ESRAG, and membership costs are quite low, starting at $30 for a regular membership or $100 for a contributing membership.  I am asking District 5950 Rotarians that care about environmental sustainability and global climate change to consider membership.  You can get more information on the ESRAG membership information page.
